The most recent inspection of West Lodge by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) was undertaken in November 2017.

I am delighted by the fact that the School has successfully met every single standard and is judged to be fully compliant. This is something from which everyone involved with West Lodge can draw considerable satisfaction. I am particularly pleased with the ISI’s recognition of the School’s strong pastoral care, commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and underlying holistic ethos, all of which contribute to creating an environment in which our children can feel supported as they grow and develop.

The Reporting Inspector made a point of saying how much she had enjoyed visiting West Lodge, meeting the staff and especially the pupils, whom she found both engaged and engaging, enthusiastic about their school and their learning, and eager to share their views. I am extremely grateful for the positive contribution of the pupils, parents, staff and governors towards what was a rigorous inspection process and their ongoing commitment to excellent practice in promoting high standards in all that we do. The focus for this inspection was upon compliance and, whilst the plans, lessons and assessment systems were critically scrutinised the inspectors’ remit is to ensure that the regulations are met rather than giving an overall judgement of educational quality. A separate inspection reporting upon this aspect of the School’s performance will be made in the next three years.

However, the School’s high standards are fully recognised in the report, which I hope will reassure and encourage both our current school community, and all those who might wish to join us in the future. The staff at West Lodge will continue to ensure that we provide an excellent all-round education for all of our children.
