International Week at West Lodge 8.5.18 - 11.5.18
Last week, West Lodge went international. Every class learnt about a specific country for the entire week and took part in a number of fun and exciting activities. On Tuesday, each class worked with Darren from Dance Days to compile a dance from their chosen country. Each class were amazing and put something together in such a short amount of time. Some classes also got to make a culinary dish from their country in Food Technology with Mrs Jones. On Thursday, each class shared a song that they have been working on with Mrs Slater with the rest of the school whilst Mr McCabe ensured PE lessons were international throughout the week.
In fact, all of the teachers have been working hard to ensure children got to fully understand what life was like in the country they had been chosen, which was shared at Friday’s assembly. Madame Pavey then ensured Friday lunchtime was lots of fun with a number of French activities whilst Sue the Cook (and her team) made sure each day offered some yummy international dishes.
Finally, the week ended with a carousel of activities so that every child in the school could find out about the three other countries in their key stage and collect visa stamps for their passport to take home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a success. The children and staff had a fantastic week.
