West Lodge has Talent! 5.6.18

What a wonderful way to start this half term. West Lodge has Talent was an extremely successful event in which children from Reception to Year 6 were able to show off their talents. It really was a variety show as there were many different types of acts ranging from dancing and singing to comedy and magic. It really was a difficult to decision to pick a winner, but Mrs Webb, Mr Hankin and Mrs O's combined scores meant that Ben, who had memorised 85 flags off by heart and successfully recognised fifteen out of fifteen randomnly selected ones came out on top. Congratulations to Ben and the rest of the finalists, who really put on a wonderful show. A huge thank you our  judges for their time and to Miss Beckett, who organised such a fantastic event. Watch out Simon Cowell!

School journey - Day 4

All four groups today completed four rotations of activities including Abseiling, Problem Solving, Quad biking, Jacob’s Ladder, Climbing and Orienteering. The children continued to be excellent in terms of effort and enthusiasm regarding all activities. The highly anticipated Disco was then the talk of Osmington Bay and did not disappoint. Children are looking forward to seeing their parents tomorrow, but will miss the thrill and exhilaration of the daily activities and spending all of their time with their friends. Tomorrow, the children will be Zipwiring before we face our biggest challenge of the week, the M25 on a Friday afternoon...

School journey - Day 3

Today, the children took to the water in the highly anticipated Dragon Boat contest. 🐉 Three fierce crews managed to all win a race (ensuring they would get their dinner tonight) and many fell asleep on the bus journey home thus showing how hard they all worked. After lunch, the four groups continued with their land based activities. These included Quad biking, Jacob’s Ladder, Trapeze and the Ropes Course. Children are looking forward to completing their rotations tomorrow as well as getting their dancing shoes ready for the disco 💃 We are now all off to have a game of Rounders in lovely evening summer sunshine...

Whilst some rooms have become highly competitive regarding Room Inspections, one or two have become less interested...

School journey - Day 2

Another great day in the beautiful sunshine... All four groups showed wonderful determination, perseverance, positivity, encouragement, resilience and enthusiasm as they climbed, swung, trapeze-d, orienteered, jumped, rifled and cheered. We couldn’t be more proud of the children and hope the instagram posts reflect this. Tonight, we have a game of Ambush and a trip to the beach to top off an amazing day.

In other news, Room inspections continue to be a problem for some...

School journey - Day 1

What a fantastic first day for the children on our School Journey 2018. A relatively smooth drive where the only annoyance was the routine “How much longer until we get there?” comment... children arrived at Stonehenge in high spirits and a thirst for Mr Sandys’ history talk. The countryside walk to the stones was embraced by all of the children, especially in the glorious sunshine. In fact, everyone enjoyed the stroll around this famous British landmark and the children were indeed wonderfully behaved. In other news, Instagram has so far proven to be an instant success, in which the only problem so far was children photobombing Mr Weighill’s selfie. Children are doing their best to lose their new hoodies (thankfully named), lunch and cameras, but so far everything has remained accounted for! We have just arrived at Osmington Bay and the children are excited to see their rooms... but are not too pleased about the imminent room inspection. Until our next update...
