West Lodge were extremely fortunate to play host to the author Stewart Ross on Friday 1st March, for a series of creative writing workshops. Mr Ross worked with Years 3 &4 and Years 5 & 6 sharing some of his ‘top tips’ for creating, interesting and original writing.

An afternoon assembly for KS2 was an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful writing talents of all the children with specific awards for James Stapleton, Siyana Harunani, Anji Ogunwusi and Keshiyan Patel. Mr Ross expressed his amazement at the overall quality and standard of the work produced, adding that the work produced by the children exceeded any work produced from other school visited.

To the delight of KS1, Mr Ross spent some time in their classes sharing engaging insight into events from the past.

Signed copies of his book were on sale in the Orangery and judging  from the numbers sold he made a great impact on the imaginations of all of the children at West Lodge.
