Public Speaking

Public Speaking is a strength of the children at West Lodge as they are given a wide range of opportunities to practise and develop this skill. Children in KS2 take part in termly Public Speaking workshops and children in KS1 and KS2 can take part in LAMDA lessons. All children at the school take part in class assemblies and school plays throughout the year.

Nine of our LAMDA students did so well in their recent exams - 7 Distinctions and 2 Merits, two of which were at Grade 3. Congratulations to the children and thanks to our very popular LAMDA teachers Jack and Izzy.

Three of our Year 6 LAMDA students also prepared and performed an extended poem for the National Independent Schools Presentation Competition. Whilst being recorded reciting their poems in front of the school the children gave accomplished performances and we hope they experience further success.
