Alumni Story 6

How did you feel before you started at your new school?
I was a bit nervous but mostly excited. I was keen to do summer school and meet the people in my form.
How did you feel after your first day at your new school?
My nerves had gone - I was just really excited. I met loads of really nice girls so I knew it was going to be lots of fun getting to know them.
Are you used to your new uniform and routine?
Yes. I have loads to carry and I have to do loads of changes every day because of PE and all the sports clubs I do.
What are the biggest differences between West Lodge and your new school?
Changing rooms between lessons and being completely responsible for being in the right place with everything I need. There is a lot of homework which is communicated via pupils and not parents. It can seem a bit weird at first emailing your teachers!
What did you learn at West Lodge that has helped you in your first weeks at secondary school?
West Lodge gave me the confidence to ask for help and speak up when I am not sure.
Which of your learning powers have you used most at secondary school?
Teamwork - I have been captain for many netball matches and I have been responsible for organising my team and feeding back to the netball coaches.
